4 of the 5 datacrons on Alderaan can be done solo with relative ease while levelling on the planet. The final (5th) datacron is nearly impossible to solo unless you’ve severely out-levelled the planet, as it requires a few level 40 ELITE mobs to be killed (solo-stealth and death runs generally don’t work). It can however be obtained while levelling on Alderaan if you’re in a group of 3-4 people, capable of taking down the 40 elites.
NOTE: Reaching the final datacron also requires a vendor-purchased-item, though fortunately the vendor is located on the planet and is relatively easy to get to. Further details are provided below, as well as in the individual write-ups.
The vendor location is marked on the above map in black – however, it’s a little difficult to see, so click on the above images for a larger version. Again, further details are provided below, as well as in the individual walkthroughs.
Don’t wait too long before visiting the vendor – there’s nothing worse than getting to a datacron and realizing that you forgot to buy the required item for it!
PREPARATION – THE ALDERAAN VENDOR (Lain Ricie):
This vendor carries the following items:
- MGGS – 10,000 credits – This is something of a “grapple hook”. Technically, it’s used to obtain the Strength datacron, but since the item is buggy, chances are you will simply take a few jumps to reach the datacron instead. However, you will want to buy this item anyway, as it is required for a datacron later on Corellia, as well as one on the Fleet Station. This item is re-usable, so you only need 1.
- Red Detonite Actuator – 2,000 credits – This item is required to obtain the Endurance datacron on Alderaan. It’s used to detonate rocks blocking a pathway to it. If you are attempting the Endurance datacron in a group, only 1 person needs to have this item. However, it’s often a good idea to buy an extra one for use as a back-up in case something goes wrong.
You should be able to see the general location of the vendor in the world maps above, though additional maps are provided below (click for a larger view – you’ll want it):
The above show the directions to the vendor via the 2 nearest flight paths (the 1st via Juran Mountains, and 2nd via King’s Pass). If you haven’t obtained these flight paths and aren’t sure where they are, refer to the world maps at the top of the page.
Once at the vendor, the item window looks like this:
Again, you want both of the items.
Now that you (hopefully) have bought the items from the vendor, click a button below to see the walkthrough for the datacrons:
Finish all the Alderaan datacrons?
Hopefully the walkthroughs have helped. Make sure to keep that MGGS in your inventory, as you’ll need it on other planets, and you don’t want to be kicking yourself later because you forgot it in the bank! Speaking of other planets, why not head back to the main page and check out the datacrons on the next one!< Back to Main Site
